Benefits of joining the BMA include rota checking, wellbeing support, financial & employment advice & the BMA library. You’re also able to get involved with local and national negotiations & lobbying
The real question is whether any of these services are necessary for you. Personally, they’ve helped me a few times when I have been stuck in an employment issue. However, arguably if you’re very familiar with the contract, rota rules & won’t use their other services then they may not be worth it.
Overall, as membership in medical school & FY1 are pretty cheap, you should strongly consider it during these times
